Masami Uota, a Japanese color specialist, is particular about traditional Japanese colors.

While most Japanese paper artists tend to focus on Japanese characteristics, Masami's works are in a style that matches modern life, and are created by layering paints and other materials using washi as a base. She also uses dyed washi paper and straw, a traditional Kinosaki Onsen craft material, to create her creations.

Masami regularly holds washi art workshops at Kinosaki Onsen in Hyogo Prefecture. She can make her own washi art using traditional Japanese colors on her fan, her goshuin book, and colored paper. She is also popular among foreigners visiting Japan.
